The look of a little girl as she gazes up to into the eyes of her daddy reveals a much deeper truth than might be seen at first glance.
Her voice doesnt have to make a sound as her eyes alone call for him to embrace,wrap his arms and lift her off her feet where she can rest in him. She places her hand in his and is taken by the strength of his grip yet calmed by his ability to hold her so tenderly. His deep voice is soothing to her ears and she looks at him with great confidence in his ability to protect if harm should come her way. She is where she longs to be!
All young girls want to be loved and all too often the definition of love they recieve is contradictory to what love actually is according to Love Himself.
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this is the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the World, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." 1 John 4:7-10
Our daughters long for that loving relationship that provides security, confidence and affirmation in their lives. How we love them as fathers and our wives as husbands sets the example for the type of relationship they will seek to build in the future.
